For over 22 years Every Kid Counts (EKC) has been dedicated to helping children by bringing hearts together to help provide programs that help today’s youth become tomorrow’s leaders through educational, athletic and philanthropic programs. Thank YouIt was a great honor that Every Kid Counts received another Grant for our Friends at Larry H. Miller Charities on December 21st at Larry H Miller Dodge in Peoria. We are grateful to all the employees who give 5 every month and raise dollars all year long to help support programs like EKC’s Books to Bikes Literacy Program. “We are grateful and appreciative of this contribution, it could not have come at a better time.” said Rob Perelka, EKC President.
Every Kid Counts Children’s Charity and its many volunteers and partners have completed our 2016 Back to School Drive Campaign. It was an even bigger success than the 2015 campaign. Over 1300 Back packs were collected and stuffed by our fantastic volunteer team from the Creighton Elementary School District and the McClure Family. This year EKC expanded is outreach not only to support several hundred of students throughout CESD, we provided 300 stuffed back packs to kids at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson and over 200 Packs to Holdeman Elementary School in Tempe. A special thanks goes out to EKC’s Vice president Renee McClure for managing this year’s campaign and to board members George James and Todd Wigington for braving the heat to picking up and delivering the packs and supplies collected by our partner and many friends at Chase Bank. In addition, thank you to UL, Corporation for their special grant and from funds raised through several RPM Racing Entertainment event circuit that helped support some of the costs of this event and the to many donors who supported this year’s campaign.
A Successful 2015
In 2015, we collected twice as many school supplies than the past year and collected and delivered over 5500 toys which was more than 1500 toys than the 2014 campaign. In addition, we provided 9 academic scholarships and we continued to have great success with our “Books to Bikes” Literacy/Child Obesity Prevention Program. In the three years that this program has been in place, the children have read over 60,000 books and we have presented over 700 bikes, helmets and locks to these deserving children throughout Arizona.
