2001 ANNUAL REPORT

This past year turned out to be one that started well, had some major setbacks in the months of September, October and November and finished with a bang in December due to the overwhelming success of our charity’s "Season of Giving" Campaign. During the 2001 fiscal year, this organization continued to meet and surpass expectations. The most prevalent and noticeable growth came from the number of toys collected and companies that participated in the charity’s annual toy drive.

This past year Every Kid Counts received some new financial contributions but received less support through the sale of our charity water at Sun Devil Stadium. Kidco Product’s contract was cut short due to the efforts of ASU’s contracted sports marketing company. The charity has continued to see positive results from the Interactive Educational Enhancement Program and the impact it has had on the students at Carl Hayden Community High School. Unfortunately, due to the loss of anticipated revenues, we were forced to cut the program short in October. The charity’s eight year tradition of service continued with the presentation of the 8th Annual Christmas Party for children of single parents by the brothers of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity at ASU and the 4th Annual event in Flagstaff with the help of the NAU Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity brothers. EKC ended the year with its ever growing "Season of Giving" campaign with a Winter Classic Golf tournament and the annual EKC President’s Holiday Celebration - Food and Toy Drive and the collection and delivery of more than 6,500 toys that were presented to thousands of underprivileged children, families and organizations throughout Arizona.

This past year was fun and exciting and very busy. On the flipside, it was not without its hardships, to say the least. The 9/11 attacks all but halted end-of-the-year contributions. Like most charities, EKC felt the pinch. With the loss of two of our annually planned fundraising programs (the State Fair and the distribution of water to ASU sporting events) we were forced to cut several programs we have participated in annually for the past four to eight years. Over the past three years, EKC has managed to spend more money than we have taken in. We have managed this by utilizing lines of credit, secured by outgoing CFO Dan Perovich and myself. By taking this risk, EKC has managed to continue a number of our larger programs and assist other nonprofits along the way. Therefore it is my recommendation that for the 2002 fiscal year EKC suspends all programming activities excluding our annual "Season of Giving" campaign and minor support for our various charity partners. In doing so I am recommending a full-on capital campaign to generate the funds necessary to not only clear any past debts but to build a foundation of funding in order to resume and enhance our major programming efforts throughout the State in 2003.

The following is EKC’s year-end status and the financial statement that is being reported to the Corporation Commission and the IRS on our 990 Form for fiscal year 2001.

Program Activity:

Interactive Educational Enhancement Program: This year continued the success for the portions of this program conducted at Carl Hayden Community High School. This program was ongoing until October 15, 2001 and has continued to gain results never imagined. We hope to continue this program in Fall of 2002 or Spring 2003.

Included in this Program is the Athlete Intramural & Mentoring Program administered by Greg Archuleta – Former Professional Soccer Player for the Arizona Thunder Soccer Team. Over the past seven years, EKC has placed professional athletes in schools for one-time visits. This program began on the campus of Carl Hayden Community High School in the fall of 1998. In addition to this program, the students of JAG, DECA and career opportunity organizations have logged literally thousands of hours through our youth volunteer works programs. This program allows student of all ages to participate in various functions throughout Arizona.

Champion of the Year Program: To best serve the community, especially in the areas of education and special assistance, Every Kid Counts developed the "Champion of the Year Program." The name changed after the passing of our inaugural champion to the "Michael J. Arias Champions Program" in honor of Michael and his family. The program has seen little growth this year due to the down turn in the economy and the decline in water club participants.

This program has been designed to feature young children who have shown great courage through very challenging times. The children are featured as part of our Every Kid Counts, Inc. retail water bottle label program. This program provided minimal support to a number of other children’s charities throughout the State and into California. The support that we provided in 2001 was limited to product donations and event support. It is our wish in 2002 to continue these efforts and work to enhance our support for children challenged with Pediatric Cancer.

Snowball Express: This program was canceled due to the 9/11/01 tragedy. Southwest Airlines and Honeywell are confident that it will be reinstated in December 2002. EKC plans to participate as part of our Season of Giving campaign

Drug Prevention Assemblies: This year we were forced to cut this program from our budget. We are planning on reinstating these efforts in 2003.

Product Donations: In keeping with EKC’s tradition of providing other non-profits and youth groups with support, EKC provided nearly 10,000 bottles of water to other groups for their event programs or fundraisers. This includes the Phoenix Parks and Recreation, Single Parents Association, Aid to Adoption of Special Kids, Ronald McDonald House, Phoenix Day School, Arizona Youth Baseball, CASA and many schools and church groups throughout the state.

Tickets to Events: This past year saw, once again, a great deal of support from many of the local professional sports programs. Through their generosity, we were able to provide thousands of tickets to underprivileged youth throughout the state of Arizona.

Equipment/Service Donations: Every year we provide equipment to schools and/or parks and recreation facilities as well as material support. This past year EKC continued is tradition of providing materials, funding and service support to the Thomas J. Pappas School, Aid to Adoption of Special Kids, Gilbert Boys & Girls Club, Ronald McDonald House, Single Parents Association, Carl Hayden Community High School, Dobson High School, Chaparral High School and many smaller organizations throughout the State.

Season of Giving Campaign: This program, which turned out to be one of our biggest and best programs of the year, encompassed all the programs that we do during the Holiday season. Companies such as American Golf Corporation, Sears (in conjunction with the points of light foundation, Alaskan Airlines, Preferred Chiropractic and many smaller business) banned together with schools such as Dobson High School and DW Higgins institute to help Every Kid Counts raise 6,500 toys and clothing items along with food to provide for a great Christmas for children and families all over Arizona. In addition, EKC continued its traditional holiday events. These include:

Single Parent’s Association Christmas Parties: For the eighth year in a row, the brothers of ASU & NAU Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity Chapters along with their dates played host to more than 70 boys, girls and their parents for our December 2nd & 5th Christmas Parties. These parties consisted of a dinner, games and a special visit from Santa Claus. Each member from the fraternity and sorority contributed a gift for each child and spent the entire afternoon and evening with that child to help ensure a special time. These events have always been a major success and will continue to be an annual event during our "Season of Giving" campaign.

EKC’s Annual President Holiday Celebration – Food & Toy Drive: On December 15th EKC President welcomed more than 160 of EKC’s closest friends and family members to his home for this annual event that assisted in collecting more than 6,500 toys for various needy children throughout the state of Arizona.

Northern Arizona Chapter:

Red Ribbon Campaign: Unfortunately, this event was also cancelled due to the loss in revenues. We hope to resume support for this program either in the fall of 2002 or the fall of 2003. This will depend upon the success of our planned 2002 capital campaign efforts.

CASA Partnership: Every Kid Counts of Northern Arizona - Flagstaff is proud to be working closely with Citizens Against Substance Abuse on many worthwhile projects.

Children of Single Parents Christmas Event: Every Kid Counts of Northern Arizona - Flagstaff and Phi Sigma Kappa Christmas Party for Children of Single Parents: December 2, 2001

The Christmas party provided an opportunity for under privileged youth from all over Flagstaff to experience and enjoy some of the Christmas spirit. This program is a joint venture of EKC, the brothers of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity and their dates, Single Parents Association and CASA. This year's event included dinner, games and a visit from Santa Claus.

We invited 35 youth from Flagstaff to participate in this event and are pleased to report that the event went off without a hitch. The fraternity had a fantastic time, the parents had a chance to relax while their kids were being taken care of and, best of all, the kids had a blast.

Fundraising/Special Events Programming:

8th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament: Arizona Biltmore Country Club was the sight of this year’s Every Kid Counts 8th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament. The event was held on April 23 and lost approximately $5,000 in revenues due to the courses high cost and set number of golfers that was imposed upon the charity. We were force to book for 125 and only had 99 participants.

2001 Van Chevrolet Pairings Party – Casino and Auction Night: Scottsdale Stadium was the site of this special event which consisted of food, entertainment and casino gaming followed up with a raffle and a silent and live auction to kickoff our 8th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament. The Arizona Singing Cowboy kicked off the entertainment that was followed up with a great comedy routine by world renown comedian Michael Finny. This was a fun time for the 120 + participants who attended this event that raised nearly $9,000 for the charity.

2001 Arizona State Fair: Due to conditions beyond our control, EKC was not approved to participate in this years State Fair. Therefore, the charity was forced to cancel several programs funded by this event. We hope to be back in the Fair in 2002 with the support of Coca Cola Bottling Company,

Country Thunder USA: In late April, EKC participated in the biggest country and western show in the state of Arizona for the fourth straight year. The charity's 300 volunteers provided more than 2,600 hours of community service staffing the VIP tent. This event raised nearly $26,000 for our charitable efforts.

Water Club: The EKC Products program had a good year. Combining the corporate and the individual participants, the charity received a great deal of support.

Funds Raised: $12,831

Sunbelt Special Events: Thanks to the many volunteers who helped staff a majority of the corporate picnics and parties that Sunbelt Special Events had contracted through out the past year. Special thanks to the many companies who choose Sunbelt to handle their catering and/or entertainment events. Sunbelt was responsible for a majority of the fundraising dollars gained by EKC this past year and we hope to have even a better year in 2002.

2001 Winter Classic Golf Tournament – Toy Drive Kickoff: It was a beautiful day on November 30, 2001 to kickoff what turned out to be a higher than expected Food, Toy and Clothing Drive. The tournament was held at Stonecreek Golf Club with 80 participants enjoying a great afternoon of golf and an evening of fun. Thanks to American Golf Corporation and our sponsors Coronado Industries, Crown Press, Bandango, Scottsdale Sunrise Kiwanis Club, Bob Smith and the many golf participants, EKC raised close to $6,000.00. These funds helped fund the "Season of Giving" campaign.

Grants/Donations Program

These grants and donations provided assistance in the area of education, athletic and substance abuse awareness programming. With funding of public education on the down swing, EKC is working to do its part in providing alternative funding to ensure the development of our youth’s mental and social environment.

Products and Equipment Donations:

Every Kid Counts Charity Water: 10,000 bottles to various programs $2,919

Food and Materials for various groups and programs $ 500

Total Contributions: $3,419

Rotary River Rally: April 20, 2001 at the Tempe Town Lake, EKC was invited to participate in this annual event hosted by area Rotary Clubs. EKC provided the food and entertainment. Despite the poor weather, the event raised nearly $1000.00 to support our numerous charity programs. A special thanks to the Rotary Club for allowing us to be part of this great family event.

2001 CONTRIBUTORS

In 2001 EKC was honored to have many supporters of our charity programs. One of our long-standing traditions is to provide the most recognition possible for those who have chosen to partner with our programs. The following are the various businesses that provided financial and in kind support to our charity during our 2001 fiscal year:

Major Contributors:

Crown Press: For the sixth consecutive year, Crown Press has participated in all aspects of the charity’s operations with support and donations well over $10,000 in printing. Mark Gefroh, a partner in the firm, is one of the senior members of the Board of Directors. His enthusiasm continues to be a great contribution to the communication and development aspect of our organization. We appreciate his dedication and the support of his staff.

Parties, Picnics & Parties: One of the largest contributors of financial and material support for not only our charity, but for many other groups as well. Owner Ken Wood continues to provide opportunity to assist others throughout Arizona. Through his support Ken has allowed EKC to develop our youth works and volunteer programs while raising the necessary funding to support other programs. This past year, Ken presented EKC and Kidco Products Inc. with the ownership of the Sunbelt Special Events Company name. This in turn has been keeping EKC going by raising the necessary funding for our charity. Thanks Ken!

Sam’s Club: Gaspar, Cindy, Libby have continued to be a great help in the development of our program as well as developing new relationships with other kid’s programs. We are greatly appreciative to Gaspar who was appointed to the Board of Advisors in the last quarter of our 2000 (2001?) fiscal year. Many of the Sam’s Clubs throughout Arizona continue to participate and remain a large part of many of our charity events.

Arizona Rattlers, Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Coyotes and the Phoenix Suns: All these professional teams continue to help support the efforts of our charity by providing tickets, funding, memorabilia and player and coach support throughout the year.

Points of Light Foundation: Working in conjunction with Sears and their Care-a-van gifting program donated over $100,000 worth of Toys and Clothing to assist in our annual toy drive. Through this support, EKC was to provide Christmas to several thousands of kids, families and organizations throughout Arizona.

Fast Signs @ 32nd Street and Indian School Road: Ross Meager and his staff continue to provided a great deal of support by donating all of our banners and signs. For this, EKC is proud to have them as a major partner in our organization.

Sedona Bottling Company: Again in 2001 the water label took on many new looks from the ASU Sun Devil Stadium to the Water Club program. The label continues to have a colorful look to it as well as the logos of companies that donated money to help in our charity’s programming. We are in our sixth year working with our water manufacturer, Sedona Bottling Co. (Thanks to Dan, Pat, Al & Dennis). We greatly appreciate the support that Dan Delaney and the Sedona Bottling Company has provided over these developing years.

Fine Host Corporation: The Every Kid Counts water program made it into its sixth straight year thanks to the Fine Host Corporation. It was not as big as the last two years because of the cancellation of the program. However, we came very close to reaching the 7,500 cases sold. In addition to the water sales, Sue and the Fine Host staff proudly supplied the food for our 8th Annual Charity Christmas party for children of Single Parent Families and the Annual EKC Presidents Toy Drive Holiday Party. We appreciate Fine Host Corporation’s dedication and support of our organization. Thanks for fighting to continue this partnership. EKC will always be in your debt.

Van Chevrolet: Joined the ranks as one of the top supporters of our children’s charity program. John McEniry and friends at Van Chevrolet sponsored the pairings party before our 8th Annual Celebrity Tournament. In addition, Van Chevrolet helped EKC established the first ever corporate private label program by creating the EKC/Van Chevrolet water label. Van provides these water bottles to their customers during the hot weekends. Thanks John and Van Chevrolet for your generosity and support. We look forward to a lasting partnership.

Coronado Industries and the Smith Brothers: Coming to the charity from out of nowhere, Bob, Richard and Jeff Smith and the rest of the Coronado Industry staff has provided several thousands of dollars in donations and sponsorships for EKC Golf Tournaments. Thank you for choosing to become a big part of our charitable giving.

Ramirez Roofing Incorporated: President and owner Eddie Ramirez and wife Linda continued to be a large part of our charity program this past year. Ramirez Roofing provided $3,000 in corporate donations (label sponsorships) as well as $1,500 in purchases of the EKC water and continues to accompany Crown Press as a fixture on the ASU Sun Devil Stadium Water Label. We greatly appreciate the dedication that both Eddie and Linda provided not only to our program but to other youth organizations as well. They are definitely heroes of our community.

ABC Channel 15: This past year, ABC15 provided a great deal of public information broadcasting for our charity through the campaign. They also sponsored the EKC Arizona Water Label. Anchor Craig Fouhy continues to be a great help as a member of the EKC Board of Directors. Thanks again ABC 15 for your support and a job well done.

Arizona Major League Baseball Alumni Association: Many of the members have been very generous in their continued support of our organization.

American Golf Company, Sears and the Points of Light Foundation, The Pacioni Family, Preferred Chiropractic, Dobson High School Hero’s Class, 1st grade Students and DW Higgins Institute and Alaska Airlines: Together helped make the 2001 Season of Giving a huge success by collecting over 6500 toys that were distributed throughout the Valley to underprivileged youth of all ages and back grounds.

Every Kid Counts, Inc., would like to also acknowledge other sponsors and contributors who have faithfully assisted us in the past year and, whether large or small, it made a difference:
