Dear Friend of Every Kid Counts,
You are invited to be a part of the biggest campaign in Every Kid Counts’ history. Would you like to help EKC help more children through its Educational, Athletic, and Philanthropic programs? EKC and its board of directors are hosting the 1st Annual Bowl A Thon on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at different locations throughout the state. Our goal is to raise $75,000. With your help we can obtain this goal, and in doing so make a bigger impact on our communities youth.
We are asking all of our friends to help support this campaign. We hope you will take the time to help us raise the funds that EKC needs to help the kids in our communities.
How it works? The bowl a thon is simple. On August 28th, 2004 participants committed to the Every Kid Counts cause will all bowl 100 frames or 10 games. Prior to the bowling event you will have the opportunity to help friends, family, co-workers etc. make pledges to your mission of bowling 100 frames. Your pledges add up and so do the pledges of other participants with the goal of reaching $75,000. Sound simple enough? Well it is.
Step 1: Register or Sponsor yourself. Fill out the registration form and commit to sponsor yourself for a min. of $1/frame. This will help ensure your full participation to the bowl a thon.
Step 2: Receive your pledge book
Step 3: Over the next few weeks take a few minutes here and there to collect pledges (any pre-collected money is greatly appreciated) with the goal of reaching $25/frame. There are prizes for those who hit this goal and others including trips and merchandise.
Step 4: Show up the day of the event, turn in your pledge book with any pre-collected money and then bowl your brains out.
Step 5: Every Kid Counts will collect the books and send out collection notices to collect all the pledges.
Step 6: Count up all collected money and put it towards the Season of Giving Campaign and our new financial education pilot program developed with the help of Wells Fargo to be introduced to a few high schools this fall.
