This special night includes the pairing up of a child with a member of the host fraternity and their selected date from an on campus Sorority. They students provide mentorship as a big brother - big sister for the evening. They also provide food, fun and presents. Each year the event has been blessed with a special appearance from old Saint Nick. The children go away with memories and in many cases stay in touch with their new found friends. The parents get an evening to relax and enjoy the company of other parents attending. Overall these 7 years have provided many magical moments. In 1998, The Phi Sigma Kappa Chapter at Northern Arizona joined in on the fun and hosted a similar program up in the high country, inviting over 25 children form single parent homes to enjoy a day of food, fun and giving.
In addition to these two events, EKC also hosts its annual Presidents Holiday Celebration Food and Toy Drive at their place of residence. This is an invitation event only. Each person invited is asked to bring a new unwrapped toy and some non-perishable food items to be donated to several Valley organizations partnering with EKC. Every Kid Counts also provides support from several parks that provide holiday festivities for the underprivileged families and children. This too has been an ongoing tradition for the past 8 years.
