Every Kid Counts. So Does Every Gift.

For over 30 years, EKC has helped kids in our community learn, play, and grow — through education, sports, and after-school programs that change the direction of a child’s life. Your donation keeps that work going.

Why Your Gift Matters

A child who has somewhere to go after school. A kid who gets a bike, a backpack, or a chance to play on a team for the first time. A family that needed help and found it, no questions asked.

That’s what your donation makes possible.

Every Kid Counts is a 501(c)(3) public charity founded in 1994 by a small group of Mesa community leaders who believed every kid deserves a shot at a better future. Today, we partner with Creighton Elementary School District, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and our own Hardship Fund to reach kids and families who need it most — free from the abuses of drugs and alcohol, the effects of violence, and the setbacks of illiteracy.

We couldn’t do any of it without people like you.

501(c)(3) Status

Every Kid Counts was granted it’s 501 (c) 3 status on April 10 1995. 501(c)(3) is a tax law provision granting exemption from the federal income tax to non-profit organizations. There are different classifications and EKC is a public charity, identified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as “not a private foundation,” normally receives a substantial part of its income, directly or indirectly, from the general public or from the government. After a 5-year ruling period EKC had demonstrated that it met the criteria to sustain its non-profit 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt status as a publicly funded charity.
